i finally got the alexander wang clutch in the mail (well, both actually) and i decided that i couldn't let go of the burlap/rose gold version. it's just way too weird a combination, and absolutely perfect for me. pictured here with a couple other new things, a bigger pair of wayfarers (both the arms of my old ones snapped off...i am a terrible owner) and yet ANOTHER deadly ponies lure, this time in white.

the second of three lover pieces i've bought recently, again with this random top i seem to be wearing all the time lately. i wasn't so sure how these insanely wide legged pants would go on me but after i tried them on i was sold, even if they were made for 6' models. i literally had to have them taken up at least 15cm and even now they drag on the ground. this morning i was woken up with a last minute invitation for an impromptu road trip south and ended up on this jetty with icecream, the perfect start to autumn...

if you follow the blog you're probably aware of my lover obsession (read: black hole for my money and may have bought three lover items in two weeks), and this sweet little blazer is no exception. she and i fell madly in love and i had to take her home...it's one of those things that can literally be thrown over pretty much anything and somehow instantly smartens up the whole outfit. like the other day for example. one minute i was wearing some scroungy loose top and my trusty lace shorts while lying on my bed watching everwood re-runs, the next i was heading out for dinner only adding the blazer over the top. instant cool, and i'm totally down with that.

how many times this top has been on the blog, i've lost count. everyone has their small select few items of clothing that will forever be favourites...for me that list includes my alexander wang oil slick cardigan, lover lace rose dresses in both black and white (i love them so much i have both colours) and prada slipdress, as well as the ring in the second picture. the elizabeth and james kimono top is one of those things that people still stop me in the street and ask where i got it from...for me it is a timeless blouse.

now, i am by no means a makeup/hair/anythingbeautyrelated expert. in fact i barely know anything; i am a self confessed anti-girl when it comes to things like this. there are products that i consider staples however...

1. not including chanel 'orange fizz' which i inexplicably couldn't locate while taking this picture, these are my all time favourite colours. i did a post about the gold and black a little while back, i love that they are fairly neutral and are my go-to colours.

2 & 3. i barely wear makeup, and when i say that i mean on a normal day i wear eyeliner, mascara and if i remember, blush. i currently use chi chi liquid eyeliner pen because i love the thicker tip, but if i flick the eyeliner at the ends ala catlike, i use the urban decay 24/7 liner for the finer tip. if i'm looking to make the liner ever darker and more defined, i go over it with the stila smudge pot...hands down the best purchase i made at sephora.
in terms of eyeshadow, neutrals are as adventurous as i go and the naked palette is perfect; my favourites are buck, smog and darkhorse. can't wait to get my hands on the naked 2 palette when i go to the us next..hopefully this time it won't get smashed in my luggage.

4. when it comes to my crazy unkempt hair, these two products are lifesavers. the john frieda finishing creme is the only thing that makes my hair look half decent as it is very dry (that's what constant bleaching does for you).

5. my two favourite perfumes, very different to each other. dkny 'be delicious' is light and fruity, perfect for the day, while miss dior cherie is a bit heavier and just a bit spicy which i love.

this thing actually seems to completely change its shape by a single movement due to its many cuts and drapes. i posted about the white version of the acne panton shirt last year sometime and i loved it's ease of wear and boxy shape so much i bought the black one in the new guard's last sale. this is a french 34 and is still swimming on me, just the way i like it. the drapiness makes it a great dress to pull on in summer and the asymmetric collar and hem keep it interesting.

the guys at cotton on were kind enough to send me some pieces from their new collection, CO. by cotton on. focused more towards current trends and designed for the fashion minded, the pieces feature elevated styling but are still very affordable. this lightweight knit is perfect to throw on for a casual look and for going on one of my many coffee runs.

whether you carry it paper bag style or folded up, the alexander wang 'adele' clutch from last year is roomy enough to fit everything a girl needs and then some. seeing as i'm one to carry around just about everything i own, this clutch and i will get along very well. i would normally stick with classic black but the burlap with rose gold hardware is so me, slightly scruffy looking but still eye catching. i somehow snagged both for a crazy price and will be waiting by the mailbox...but the question is, do i keep just one, or be greedy and have both?

there are wishlists, and then there are lists of must haves; these things are all included in the latter. totally needing these pants and/or the short version from maurie & eve...i'm not much of a pants wearer but when i do, i like them loose and colourful (a far cry from my days of 24/7 denim wearing). it may possibly be too early to start thinking of winter knits but when it is, i can't go past the acne 'lia' sweater which i can already imagine pairing with a pair of silk blush pink pants (really loving these) and the ss12 taupe dickers. currently into wearing delicate rings with sharper, bulkier bracelets and these two by laura lombardi and bones & feathers are amazing.

one of the biggest search terms that has brought people to this blog is 'balayage'. which surprises me greatly seeing as i hardly talk about my hair other than constantly referring to myself as some sort of hobo. over the last year or so i've had varying degrees of balayage (all self done...my hair hates me), from almost all blonde to just the tips being white blonde. i think i've come to a point where it was becoming a bit too much, and i've been wanting to tone it down for a while now. not only is there less blonde in my hair now, the shade is not too different to the rest of my hair making the difference much more subtle. i think i prefer it this way over what i've had previously...although i change my mind like no other so we'll see how long this lasts.

thank you to the girls at stylestalker who sent me what is pretty much the best throw over to lounge about in the mega heatwave perth has had this week. i've been slacking off in the blogging department, way behind with both posting and catching up on all my usual reads. the preference to eat watermelon and watch every tv series i've ever downloaded has gotten in the way it seems. i've fallen in a bit of a rut clothing-wise lately which also hasn't helped but i think the purchase of a sweet little wang bag i've had my eye on forever will probably put things right. i've been making an effort to buy more classic pieces lately and this should help things along..

chipped and/or shoddily applied nail polish is something i consider as quintessentially me, and i make no apology for that. who has the time or patience to make sure the application is perfect and has a job where hands are basically not used? definitely not the girl who thinks neat hair is the equivalent of bed hair. this particular gold polish by china glaze is my absolute favourite go-to colour, maybe it's something to do with it appearing almost nude-like on my darker skin. throw an odd coloured nail in the mix occasionally and that's basically the extent of my nail experimentation.

oh hello perfect leather jacket. you may think i'm crazy for blogging about leather in the middle of summer but for something you love more than you should, anything goes. what drew me to it in the first place was that hanging on the rack, it looked exactly like my motorbike jacket; thick leather, elbow and shoulder patches and badass buckles on the cuffs. this will be my way to be a biker girl off my yamaha too..

i'm pretty sure this was my third or fourth coffee today, come to think of it i haven't had anything else but coffee all day. hmm. i'm one of those people who refuse to have anything in mine but splenda or similar, and obsessively keeps packets of it in every bag, pocket and car, just in case. this is a couple shots of the isabel marant suede dress i swiped off one of my favourite online stores the new guard for mega cheap and i'm so in love with it it's crazy. the lace up detailing on the front calls for no bra and i like that with the boxy shape it's simultaneously sexy and man repelling.

and to clarify, this is the actual colour of my dumpster child-like hair...i have no idea why it's been looking so dark in photos lately!

i've wanted to do a post on my absolute favourite items in my wardrobe and this picture features two of them; my fur bag and my dickers. i resisted for a long time before buying the marant boots not wanting to be part of the hype surrounding them but they literally are the most versatile and easy to wear of all my shoes. loving the new version of the taupe colour for ss12 and will probably buy a pair when i'm back on track financially. speaking of isabel marant..although i have been saving like a mad man (which is unheard of for me), i may have slipped and bought a certain suede dress...but from $1500 to $370 i couldn't feel too guilty..

happy 2012! 2011 was a crazy year for me, so many major changes in my life and also in my goals. i'm now left with even less certainty about things than i was this time last year, but that is as exciting as it is unnerving. this is a collection of random shots taken throughout the year as well as outtakes from outfit posts that never made the cut. the most prominent thing that comes to mind when i look at these pictures is how often my hair colour changes...which i expect will continue well into the new year!

i don't think there would be anyone in the world who would not be happy to have a little white dress like this in their wardrobe. i am in deep infatuation with the sweet little scalloped hem, delicate lace and relatively high neck. i swapped the original black slip out in exchange for a nude and i think that small change made all the difference...paired with my not-quite-black/brown/grey dickers i can pretty much shift from afternoon cafe chilling to cocktails and dim lighting just like that.

it's strange when you're used to so much of your time being spent on the internet; blogging, checking twitter, making the daily visits to your favourite fashion inspirations sites, news feeds, and of course, your watch list on ebay. i've been pretty much offline for about a week now, and as much as i missed it, real life sometimes completely takes over. i had the misfortune of having my three year old car catch fire a few days ago, which is terrible timing seeing as i just financed a new macbook pro. so, for the indefinite future i will be a motorbike ridin', laptop totin' backpack wearin' girl, who has to save some serious money to afford the repairs or a new car. i'll admit, i feel a little guilty about the few purchases i've made in the last couple of weeks (including the alexander wang 'marti' backpack above, and a pair of isabel marant dickers), but it's probably a good thing to sit back and save a little. and besides, if i'm going to be riding my bike a lot more, i figure i needed an new little backpack anyway (or so i tell myself).

hopefully a few overdue posts will be up soon, including many items up for sale (think josh goot, alexander wang, one teaspoon, dolce vita) and a couple of outfits!

i'm pretty sure in saying that this is my favourite dress i currently own. having the black dolphin obviously just wasn't enough! this one is lighter and silkier than the black, making it a perfect summer dress. approximately three minutes after taking these it started pouring with rain...i'm almost too scared to wear it, knowing how completely retarded i am at keeping liquids (read: coffee) off my white dresses. as stainful as i may be, however, i am definitely not one to have expensive clothes simply to have them hang on my rack prettily.

i haven't worn this top much since i got it in new york during my trip in august, and it's a shame really. what's not to love about white silk? it may have something to do with not having the perfect accompaniment in my wardrobe, until recently. the minute i picked up these blush silk shorts i knew they would go together perfectly. they're some sort of short/bloomer hybrid and are one size too big for me but nothing a safety pin and some occasional hitching won't fix. these pictures don't do them justice but it's a given they will make plenty more appearances on the blog this coming summer.
it's funny, this morning as i got dressed i remembered the promise i'd made to myself earlier in the year to stop buying only white/black/grey/pink clothing but it seems like i failed that mission completely. i'm thinking that this will be the best start to keeping that promise, and seeing as red is usually my least favourite colour for clothing, should be interesting.

hello asymmetrical goodness. half the stockists online called this acne thing a shirt, the other half a dress...i decided to go with both and assume it was a shirtdress. which i was right in doing as the thing is longer than most of the dresses hanging in my wardrobe. it goes perfect with the pony hair mendel's and is a start in my attempt to buy more white clothing...i used to go by the nickname 'stainful' which was a big deterrent when it came to buying light coloured anything but i'm trying to overcome this fear, however true it may be.

i hardly ever post anything to do with my life on this blog, i prefer to keep it about style and fashion related, for the most part. i often wonder about the people behind the blogs, what kind of person they really are. These pictures are of the place i live in, a little flat i share with my ragdoll cat, vovo. i like to read random facts about people, so i'll throw in a couple of things i probably haven't mentioned on my blog..

i ride a motorbike
that's my helmet in the last picture, it's the craziest one i've ever seen! i have a yamaha r6 and love it to bits, i used to go for street rides quite a lot but not so much lately. i have a large scar just above my hip from crashing my 250 bike a few years back now.

i study law
i probably have said something about this on here somewhere, but i study law and have been for quite awhile now! i've lost a lot of the motivation i used to have and it's taking me forever to finish my degree. the thing is, i don't even plan to use it but it's nice to have i guess, just in case.

some of my favourite bands are pendulum, elbow, sigur ros, massive attack, and simon & garfunkel.
i'm awfully eclectic when it comes to music. what's the point of sticking to one genre? i like what i like.

i have always been a tomboy, until recently
i had no interest in clothes or fashion up until a few years ago. i was probably still wearing bike shorts and a tee when i was 20. which is strange, i've always been the least feminine of my friends and now i'm probably the most in a way...although i've always retained a rough edge that i think shows in my style.

i'm half australian, quarter filipino and quarter spanish
which explains my strange mix of looks. i often get mistaken for being maori, hawaiian, or some other weird blend. once an old man came up to me in the public library and started talking in portuguese, he just figured i was of that descent. i like and hate it at the same time.

acne 'panton' dress and 'bellville' boots

there is something about acne that completely draws me in, something to do with the asymmetric, often raw hemlines and the architecture of their footwear. many of their pieces are so easily wearable and it's this factor that ultimately defines my choice in clothing. this shirtdress and boots by acne fall perfectly into this category and i am eagerly awaiting their arrival to wear this spring.

pretty much all the pictures taken during PFF of this sweet little lover dress were with flash...it is actually a deep blush pink, not a purple as a lot of people have thought. light and breezy, as soon as i saw it i knew it was quintessentially me, down to the fact that there are side slits that go right up to the arm holes. nothing like accidentally flashing some old men a pair of underwear with 'boys make good pets' written on the back. which is perfectly understandable; i'm sure everyone has their emergency underwear stash when they're too lazy to do the washing.

a spontaneous outfit post means finding a seemingly cool little alley only to realise when looking back at the pictures that there are shopping trolleys and wheelie bins in the background. appetizing. i tried to photoshop them out for your viewing pleasure but it made me realise how bad i am at doing anything other than changing brightness and saturation..
this slouchy hobo thing going on is pretty much my kind of 'go to' outfit when dashing to the shops or grabbing coffee. i have a terrible habit of taking to my clothing haphazardly with a pair of scissors...i imagine most people would be horrified that i cut into this acne dress, i do plan on hemming it but the loose threads and jagged edge kind of suit me. i bought it cheap as it is a million sizes too big and planned to experiment with it anyway...i swear, i do look after my clothes..!

only i would manage to not notice a huge smudge on my lens making loads of my pictures blurry! these were taken last night at designer capsule 3, which i have to say was probably the best show of pff. the men's label zsadar was amazing; pissed off 'don't give a fuck' guys strolling down the runway with whips and crazy headpieces, smashing cameras and grabbing bags. one fell swoop was also dark and moody with pieces that matched, the best kind in my opinion. i wasn't really aware of just how much acne is in my wardrobe until i realised two of my outfits this week have been entirely this label. i thought it would be more interesting to use the leather tie that came with this mega-pink dress as an extremely long necklace. cos that's just how i roll..

one of the shows i saw tonight was designer capsule #1, a collective of 3 up and coming perth designers. Little Gracie was all about cute and quirky, with big hair and pastel dresses. Lisa Marajanovich was edgier with all the models having wet hair plastered over their faces and wearing flowing silk. Last was my favourite by far; Paper Skye consisted of piece after piece of perfect, sheer white fabric with effortless draping. in between shows we hung out at the fashion bar, sat on red leather couches and spotted liam neeson lookalikes.

opening night at the perth fashion festival was held in the revolving restaurant in the cbd, pretty awesome and not what i was expecting. true to my scatterbrained tendancies, my camera battery went flat about 2.5 seconds in (i am a shameful blogger) and so had to steal a few images from laura. the first thing i noticed about the models was the insanely crinkled, frizzy hair which was perfect for the short, tight minis and sleek, flowing maxis they were wearing. it was good to meet up with everyone again and meet more bloggers, pictures of which will be floating around on other perth blogs which i can hopefully snap up. i wore a lover dress, topshop boots and sass & bide clutch, which was a surprising colour deviation from my norm.

tomorrow marks the beginning of the perth fashion festival which i'm pretty excited about! in between university assignments and working almost every day i'm fitting in two or three shows a night, which will be pretty damn tiring but worth it. right now i'm listening to the beach boys and deciding on a couple of outfits to wear to PFF...strangely enough the festival has injected more bright colour into my quintessentially neutral wardrobe. and a lot more acne.

i am a complete picnic fan and am always scouring the city for grassy areas to inhabit. not sure if coffee is considered a picnic food but that and some brownies were bought on the way to eat in the sun. i'm enjoying the fact that the nights are still cold but the days are the perfect temperature, so as the light faded i threw on this awesomely snuggable knit by fairground, courtesy of frankie sunshine (thanks kate!). i tried to get a shot of me jumping around like a crazy person but after almost breaking my ankle on a pine cone that idea was quickly abandoned.

aside from the slightly strange sounding title of this post, acne have been hammering bright pops of colour lately and their ubiquitous use of pink has not gone unnoticed. since their last collection i have literally been whining like a needy dog every time i come across an image of an acne dress in this colour. i've been looking for a crazy coloured mini dress for awhile, and the magical dress ticks all the right boxes...it should be in my mailbox soon. and the boots...i might very well be the only person on the planet who likes these but my inital disbelief/slight nose wrinkle quickly turned to fascination when i realised these would go perfectly with every black dress i have.

sunday afternoon was spent hanging out with laura, bonnie, jessie and alexis at pretty much the best place to chill and drink coffee, five bar. between us there were four cameras (i am seriously so slack at carting mine around) and i managed to grab these pictures off laura. this lover dress is without a doubt my favourite piece of clothing, based on the number of times it has appeared on this blog. my rick owens wedges have the highest arch of all my shoes, which is ironic seeing as i bought them thinking they could be a quick 'throw on' shoe when i couldn't be bothered wearing my higher ones. definitely worth it though, i often get caught hugging them when i take them off...sadly that's not a joke. and yes...my hair is that messy and straw-like all the time. looks can be deceiving!

my second look for the sportsgirl blogger styling competition. i found this skirt a lot harder to style than the blazer, being very different to my usual style and out of my comfort zone. but, that's the point of a styling competition, obviously! such a bright piece commands the centre of attention which is why i made the rest of the outfit much more subtle. i lovelovelove my moschino belt, i don't often use it but there aren't enough holes to make it small enough to fit my waist, which is why it is hanging oddly in the second picture. it's one of those accessories that will most likely never leave my closet.

it's funny how studying (or supposed to be) makes you suddenly so interested in doing random things like taking pictures of yourself and being convinced watching sex and the city is more important than life. it was raining this morning but the afternoon sun was so nice i had to go sit and stare at the sky for awhile. because of my new york trip i'm now scarily behind with uni work...at least readings for intellectual property are more interesting than commercial law. slightly. the bracelet i'm wearing in the self portrait is by luxla, i love it and is exactly the kind of thing i like to pile on my wrists. not sure if it's noticable but there were several hair colour changes which took place while in new york, it came out too dark the first time so i corrected it when i got back. i like the subtle balayage and that there is now more brown than blonde...i swear i'm so lucky my hair hasn't turned green from all the botched dye jobs i've inflicted on it.

tattoo i got done at studio 28 on...w 28th. naturally. a couple of people have asked me about it's significance; it's three sides stand for power, courage and wisdom, a symbol from my favourite video game series, legend of zelda. yep, i'm a complete old school nintendo fangirl.

i'm absolutely terrible at taking pictures while on trips...i either forget to bring my camera or it never occurs to me to use it. i'm all about experiencing things rather than recording them...that's my reasoning anyway. in terms of outfits etc, it is definitely not a good photo diary seeing as most of the pictures were taken on the two days i wore the same black dress by lover. being fair, it was awfully hot while there which always has a dampening effect on my choice of clothing for the day.

having travelled with a guy friend this time, i didn't get in as much shopping as i'd have liked but i managed to visit a few shops i had on my list. i picked up the pamela love cage ring from opening ceremony, after seeing it in person i just couldn't say no! as well as some other stuff i also got a couple of tops and the best gold knit from zara, a suede carry all from american apparel (in the last picture), and a ton of eyeliner and eyeshadow from sephora. i think i went a little crazy in the urban decay section, but as any australian girl would know, make up is fucking expensive here.

hopefully i'll get back there soon, it is definitely my favourite place in the world. and thank you so much to the girl who stopped me on bleecker st one night to tell me she read my blog...it meant so much to me and made my week (though if i was a little intoxicated i apologise...)!

with the lack of good internet at the place i'm staying at here on west 101st, and having to rely on the free wifi in starbucks (i would die without it), i haven't posted anything for awhile. it's so easy to find nice places to take pictures here..this is just outside our hotel in between frequent rain showers. finally had a chance to whip out my favourite leather jacket..its been so hot here! i haven't been shopping as much as i though i'd have while in new york, but i did pick up these sweet little ankle boots from ash...totally loving the slightly gold/metallic heel and the little skulls hanging on the side tassels. just enough of a rough edge to de-prettify them to my liking.

this was taken sitting inside the seediest little japanese takeaway place, just before i was presented with a pile of mush that was supposed to be chicken katsu. which was really disappointing seeing as i had been dreaming of it all day. the beautiful cuff is by the lovely carly paiker who sent me a couple of things to check out. this blush coloured one completely has me hooked, most probably due to my never ending love affair with anything pink and wearable. and yes, that is a triangle drawn on my wrist...a template of the tattoo i'm getting in new york next week!

stylestalker's shearling jacket is one of my favourite purchases this winter so far, and surprisingly warm. it's basically one of those pieces that instantly toughens up anything even remotely dainty, which includes my favourite and most wearable dress by lover and my insanely girly bow satchel. i don't know what it is with empty parking lots but it seems to be the place of choice to take pictures lately.

on a completely different topic, i'm going for a quick visit to new york next month and am crazy excited...just thinking about topshop, barneys, opening ceremony, lf stores and all the other awesome boutiques is making me want to squeal like a little kid. the only daunting thing is forcing myself not to pack my entire wardrobe...

one teaspoon 'winter dinky' dress

this is probably as feminine as my clothing gets. i've wanted one of these dresses ever since they came out but never actually managed to do it until i saw this awesomely creamy grey version while window shopping. although i have to admit, i would gladly take the black and dusty pink versions as well. it's probably the best trans-season dress i've owned, long sleeves to keep warm but still sheer all over to wear into spring. these are a few quick snaps taken just as the sun went down, at a disappointing 5.30pm.

i've been quite noticeably missing from heart+bleecker and the internet generally for awhile, and i'm trying to make up for this absence...particularly catching up on all the blog posts i've missed. if you have sent me an email and have not recieved a reply i will try my best to get them all answered as soon as i can. i have also recieved a number of questions repeatedly which i will reply to here...

- in regards to my fur bag, it really was so simple there is no point doing a diy post on it! it is simply a fur muff, sewed shut on one side and a magnetic clasp attached to the other, with a length of chain threaded through.

- all the pictures have been taken with either a canon 350d or a nikon d700..

- my hair is extremely diy...i bleach and dye it myself (which i would definitely not recommend). in regards to how i did the balayage myself, my hair was at one stage pretty much all blonde, so i just dyed the top dark brown. no special method...just made sure the ends were coated in conditioner to avoid being stained.

- my miu miu bow satchel is the normal size, not the smaller one.

unlike others, as winter approaches i tend to gravitate towards light colours rather than dark. maybe it's to do with wanting to try retain a little sunshine, or something. i ordered these free people shorts on a whim at 1am late last week and they somehow appeared on my doorstep today. seeing as my other pair of white lace shorts are actually sleepwear, i felt i should start attempting to appear half decent while around other people. the knit cape by stylestalker is pretty much my one true love and will probably follow me everywhere, thrown over some sort of flimsy slip (which goes against that last statement but you can't win them all) and chunky boots. gold nail polish is my favourite colour and surprisingly, this $2 polish is way better than my chanel one.

on the hunt for cute little cafes, we stopped by a small french patisserie and picked up some pastries and coffee before heading to the nearest park. i always get freaked out when ducks come too close looking for food. afterwards i discovered alley ways are abundant in this area and that they are perfect for taking pictures without the usual crowd of gawkers. this alexander wang cardi is my favourite thing to throw on when it's getting a little cold and i know by the end of winter it will have had more use than any other thing in my wardrobe.

i've never been that good at documenting my trips; i always go in with intentions to try and capture everything with my camera but it somehow never seems to happen. what i usually end up with is a mish mash of strange photos, often focussed on finer details rather than happy snaps and the bigger picture. our time was spent in way too many chocolate cafes, going crazy over the isabel marant and alexander wang in the corner shop, pitt st, concerts in the opera house, and the best red velvet cupcakes i've ever tasted.

up at 4am to catch an early flight to sydney. after nearly having a heart attack when realising i'd left my chanel backpack at the airport metal detectors, finally got here and had time for a quick boutique surf. i'll post a photo diary of the trip when i'm back, but i've already fallen in love with a few places and things (the corner shop; those alexander wang knit shorts are mine!!) that i'll hopefully pick up in the next couple of days.

tomorrow morning i'll be heading to sydney for a few days, unfortunately without much money so will have to avoid all the boutiques i've heard so much about. i have to admit i'm slightly disappointed the weather over there isn't colder...not much chance of being able to whip out this outrageously yeti-like coat which ticks all the right boxes for me. uncomfortably large, warm, almost like wearing your grandma's english sheepdog. i have been limited to one backpack of clothes so we'll see how i pull that one off...

picnic at hanging rock

spur of the moment picnic today, packed up some essentials (pizza shapes, skittles and twelve pack of fun size bounty chocolates) and started driving south. we ended up at a dam with this hidden rock pool, perfect for eating junk and pretending to be lost travellers. in hindsight i wasn't wearing the best stuff for an impromptu adventure, this kimono top kept getting caught in all the thorny weeds. perfect choice of footwear though, these jeffrey campbells are by far the most comfortable boots i've ever worn, and were the sole reason why i didn't slip to my death down the steep rocky dam wall.

the best thing was realising just how at home my bag looked sitting next to me on the sand, it literally looked like i had befriended some kind of furry animal.

absolutely loved the ellery trunk show, it was amazing to be part of it. so much i loved about the collection, including the black and gold sheer maxis, cropped leather, and slightly rough looking ponytails. the last ones were shot at the afterparty at wolfe lane, where laura and i took over a couch and watched one crazily awesome girl dancing in the middle of an otherwise 'poised' group of people. i wore a complex geometries sheer dress, vintage prada slip, acne boots and my beloved diy fur bag.

coffee stop at the best cafe in leederville, greens. i have never seen a bigger cake selection as they have there, though i managed to stay away from the fridge cabinet this time. beforehand i literally wanted to take home everything in one of my favourite boutiques harry & gretel...being broke sucks. though i can hardly complain, i blew my savings and am expecting packages with elizabeth and james, complex geometries and the most perfect pair of leather mini shorts in the next week. thank god for express shipping!
